Bruce Stigler

I'm Bruce’s little Bro…  the better looking and smarter member of the family!  Bruce is just under 2 years older than me.

Grew up in Cincinnati Ohio…  but spent my high school years in Everett/Mukilteo, Washington, Mariner High School Class of 81.  Loved to fish and scuba dive during that time and spent a lot of time around Puget Sound.  Moved back to Ohio for college…  went to University of Cincinnati and came out with a BS in Aerospace Engineering with high hopes of working in the Space Industry.  Got my wishes and moved out to San Diego in the early summer of 1986 to support Space Shuttle work at what was then, General Dynamics.  However, that program was very short lived due to the Challenger mishap earlier that year.  But I went on to support the Military Titan and Atlas Rocket programs for the next 11+ years.  Had a 3 year stint in Denver, Colorado with Lockheed Martin before the wife got tired of the cold and snow and returned to San Diego to work for what is now BAE Systems (alas no more work in the space business).  BAE Systems is a North American branch of British Aerospace.  I’ve been supporting various defense and intelligence community projects at BAE for the past 13 years now…  It has been an interesting and mostly enjoyable career… even with all the ups and downs of the Defense Industry.  But living in SoCal for 20+ years has been the plus side of it all.

As for my personal life…  got married about 17 years ago to a gal (Karen) I met while travelling for business.  Met several woman that way…  this one just happened to grow on me.  We have two great kids, Jack our soon to be 14 year old (starting high school this fall) and Sabrina, our 11 year old princess.  Both of them keep us busy with school and after school activities.  Soccer and volleyball are the current themes.

As for myself…  enjoy the outdoors and most things tech.  Play golf when I have time, garden a bit, build my own computers, and dabble in software development, web work, cooking, and photography.  We’ve been living, for the ten years, in a small town north of San Diego, called Temecula.  It’s a small community of 150000 people with a decent batch of nice California wineries (about 30 now).  So do enjoy a good bottle of wine on a regular basis.  The town is a nice escape from the bigger southern California cities.

And as a final note…  about a year back, bought a half interest in a Pet Cremation business.  My business partner and I own two facilities in the southern California area. Business has actually grown over the past year…  but it keeps me busy having two jobs…

Looking forward to hooking some big reds and a 100lb+ halibut on this trip!  And just enjoying the great outdoors!
